These candles are vegan & cruelty-free, soy-based (USA grown), and boast sturdy paper core cotton wicks that burn evenly. They are made with all sorts of unique fine fragrances and essential oils to produce a scent that pairs multiple complimentary perfume notes. Packaged in 6.5oz paint tins with an array of geometric designs and colours they are a treat for the nose and the eyes. 40-45 hour burn time. Available in our Halifax store only.

The newest release of the popup box-card series by Brad of Bardbardbard has debuted and is now available in store and online. This one features the scenic three church stretch of Mahone Bay! Measuring 5.5”x4” when flat and 3.65”x4”x1.6” opened, each card has room on the back for writing a special message and is paired with an envelope for easy mailing! It’s a great way to send someone a little piece of the East Coast.

Happy Friday Everyone! We’ve entered the first week of March and Winter seems to be competing with Spring. Whether it is grey outside or showing signs of the spring sun, we've been able to keep our spirits high by focusing on all the bright and colourful goodies we have in stock! Handmade Togo Mugs by Slightly Irregular
Chelsea Legge, of Slightly Irregular Ceramics, has been in to restock our shelves with her amazing work! Sea monster to-go mugs have been topped off and are back with additional colours. These whimsical pieces, along with the rest of her collection, are made from red earthenware from Lantz, Nova Scotia. Aside from the two sizes of to-go mugs featured here, Chelsea makes everyday objects ranging from mugs, bowls, planters, berry baskets and egg holders! Feel free to stop by to admire them in person!

Dried Flower Steam Kits by Fieldhouse Handmade
If you’re really missing the flowers of spring & summer, these floral facial kits, made in Wolfville by Fieldhouse Handmade, could be the perfect remedy for you! Just mix them in a bowl of steaming water then carefully drape a towel over your head and bowl to let the floral-infused steam gently purify and cleanse your pores! It also works great if you want to treat yourself to a luxurious flower petal bath to combat winter blues - what better time to pamper yourself?

We’ve been long time fans of these felt floral hoops by Laura of the Yellow Birdhouse. They are a great way to introduce a pop of colour in your home without taking up too much space! Handmade in Nova Scotia using beeswax from the Annapolis Valley, these beeswax food wraps are a sustainable alternative to plastic wrap. This Lobster print, by Angela Doak, is a perfect combination of nautical & colourful. Happy Friday everyone! Valentine’s Day has passed and Halifax is showing subtle hints of spring approaching! We’ve had quite a few of our fan-favourite products restocked this week, along with some colourful new additions to them! Here’s what we’ve featured on social media!

Handmade Canadian Pottery by Kelsey Watson Ceramics
The always popular sunset mugs by the Cape Breton potter, Kelsey Watson, are back in stock, and this time she brought some in a second colour! True to their name, these mugs have a dreamy gradient glaze in either pink or blue that are complemented by a stark horizon line of gold lustre. They are handmade, thus no two are identical, but consistently sized to one another - this makes them a great option if you want to pair them up for a wedding or anniversary gift, especially now with the option to mix and match with both colours available. They’re in store now but always go quickly!

If you haven’t made it out for your cards yet, fear not! We still have plenty of cards ranging from sassy to sappy in stock. It can be palentine’s, galentine’s, valentine’s or whatever else you’d like. It’s always great to show your appreciation to any person in your life. Anita, of Rhubarb Paper Co, designs all sorts of cards to get the point across with equal parts humour and sentiment. Her “Overreact with” card, featured here, could apply to partner, parent, friend or whoever else! We carry a selection of Anita’s cards in store but also online as well!

Handmade Aromatherapy Shower Steamers by The Bath Bomb Company
Our newest arrival are these vibrant and amazingly smelling shower steamers made in Canada by the Bath Bomb Company. What are shower steamers? They’re essentially a perfectly-portioned bath bomb product that can be used in showers and for face steams. There are 3 recommended ways to use them, First, dampen and place on the ledge in the shower away from direct water flow. Let the aroma release slowly as you shower. When you are almost done, place the steamer in the palm of your hand, hold close to your face and enjoy the aromatherapy. Second, place in a bowl of hot, steaming water, lean over the bowl with a towel over your head to enjoy the aroma of the essential oils. And finally, as a mini bath bomb!

The newest design by local designer, Far Far Away Shop, has arrived at Inkwell! This Maritime slang tea towel contains 83 unique slang phrases from around the Maritimes, and includes 21 equally unique town names from Atlantic Canada. It’s a great way to spark some conversation about what interesting things we’ve said & heard in Eastern Canada. Available now in-store and online.

women who make 2020 calendar by Sarah Duggan
Waiting to see what Sarah Duggan releases for her calendar has become a bit of a holiday tradition for us here at Inkwell. Every year she continues to stun us with an assortment of carefully chosen illustrations to welcome the new year and her 2020 calendar is no exception to this! This 2020 Calendar titled “Women Who Make” celebrates women living creatively. Each month features a group of women gathered together to do handcrafts and creative projects. Each page is thoughtfully designed to be re-purposed into 5x7 postcards at the end of each month (or year).

Another highly anticipated yearly release for us is this limited edition calendar tea towel from Keephouse Studio. The new 2020 design is bursting with bright colours and floral images. It is now available in-store and online but has been a quick seller every year we’ve carried it - it’s best to act sooner than later for this one.

Brad Hartman of Bard Cards features the infamous Halifax crane in his most recent popup card. If you’re looking for a quirky, Halifax-themed way to wish someone a “Merry Cranemas” this card is perfect for you! Available In-store and online!

Fieldhouse Handmade is one of the new artists we’re pleased to welcome this week! Lindsay makes an assortment of wonderfully scented bath salts and perfume blends. This week we’ve featured her zodiac scent series, in which she has created a custom scent for each astrological sign. Each perfume is delicately scented, so you and those close to you can uncover the layers of fragrance, while not leaving a heavily scented trail behind you. The convenient packaging allows you to pop this perfume in your purse or pocket so you can refresh and stay smelling beautiful all day!
