Diwali is the Festival of Lights. It is celebrated by Indians around the world, making it one of the largest Indian holidays. Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and Lakshmi, goddess of wealth, prosperity, and good fortune. For some, Diwali marks the beginning of the new year.

Based in Hoboken, NJ, NANU Studio is an illustration studio owned and operated by Krishna Chavda, an Indian-American woman, who believes in creating good drawings and products while doing good for the planet and its inhabitants. NANU Studio creates playful and vibrant illustrations for high-quality goods, product packaging, publishing, and surface design.

Krishna's illustrations are inspired by pop culture, overheard conversations, the natural world, and wordplay. The witty and whimsical pen and ink designs are generally filled with puns so chuckles and smiles abound.

Nanu means little in Gujarati and it is what her family calls her being the little sister. She associates the nickname with her creative juices and overall curious, spirited nature, so it is only fitting to incorporate the name into the studio name.
