We are thrilled to announce that this Spring, we're moving 500 metres north to a brand new retail location at 2011 Brunswick Street!
Our new location will offer an accessible entrance at street level, consistent temperature controls (our paper products will be so happy!) and lots of natural light with large floor to ceiling windows!
After nearly 6 years on Market Street, we'll be joining 2 Crows Brewing and Roll it Up Sushi in the Brunswick Heights area between Duke & Cogswell. (We’ve been told a few more new businesses will be announced soon too!)
The new location is handy to access when walking from the North End to Downtown Halifax! There is a bike lane right outside the shop, many bus routes nearby and more than double the on street parking of our current location!
It’s with gratitude + excitement that WE THANK YOU for supporting Inkwell and invite you to stay tuned for news on our progress!
Please help us share the exciting news far and wide.
Andrea & team Inkwell
This is just a taste of what we have in store. Don't forget we also have gift certificates available in store + gift cards in our online shop!

The guide is up to plan your Nocturne route for the night!
We're looking forward to seeing you!
*Please note the temporary adjustment in our hours*
Saturday, October 15th we are open noon - midnight.
Sunday, October 16th we will be closed.
The Holiday retail season is peaking and so is construction, or so it seems in downtown Halifax. Market Street and streets close by are closed to vehicle traffic until at least December 18th, 2015. This means several weeks that holiday shoppers and potential new customers are rerouted away from prime shopping destinations downtown. Local businesses, including Inkwell Boutique are being directly impacted during what would be our busiest time of year for sales.
Since construction is inevitable in making Halifax a better city to live in, we've decided to make the best of our unfortunate situation during this period.
We want to personally thank our customers for braving the downtown construction and supporting local! So, we created the HFX Pylon Club, an elite identity for our customers, who choose to walk through the construction downtown, particularly outside our door, jump over pylons and come into our store to do their holiday shopping. You chose to support local and we appreciate that!
Even though our street is closed, we're definitely open for business with an accessible sidewalk.
We're giving away HFX Pylon Club pins with any purchase during our Tax Free Customer Appreciation Day, Saturday November 28th, to show a little extra appreciation to our customers given the circumstances.
Starting today, Thursday, November 26th, customers can share the HFX Pylon Club emblem from our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter along with #HFXPylonClub, to receive 10% off your next purchase. Edit: This deal runs until Christmas eve!
Thank you to our customers for wearing and sharing HFX Pylon Club proudly to raise awareness that shopping local is important, no matter the circumstances! We couldn't make it through the construction without your help.
