The Good Card
Holiday Wishes Seed Card
Pickup available at 1453 South Park Street
Usually ready in 2 hours
This plantable seed paper card is made from bio-degradable, post-consumer waste that has been collected from schools and offices, ground back down into a pulp and embedded with wildflower seeds. We hope you grow beautiful flowers that serve as a reminder of the sentiment of your card!
The Good Card seed blend is a colourful mix of 6 wildflowers, that also contains pollinators. If you plant your mixture outside, there are also a mix of annuals and perennials that will come back year after year - including Bird’s Eye (annual), Black-Eyed Susan (perennial), Clarkia (annual), Catchfly (annual), Snapdragon (annual), and Sweet Alyssum (annual).
Please note that because the paper is handmade, no two pieces are the same and minor irregularities are what make them beautiful!

Plant your card in 3 easy steps!
It's easy to plant your card at home - all you need is a garden or planter with soil, your card, and access to water and sunlight! For best results, cards should be planted within 2 years.
1. Place under 1/8" of soil
In a garden or a planter filled 2/3 of the way with soil, rip your card and place in a single layer under 1/8" of soil. Just enough that you can slightly see the paper poking through - we want the sprouts to be able to reach the surface.
2. Water thoroughly
Once the paper is in the soil, water thoroughly. We want the water to be damp, but not pooling with water so go slowly at first and continue to add until the soil has created a nice damp home for the paper to dissolve.
3. Place in sun
Whether the garden or the planter, make sure the soil has access to indirect sunlight. For the next 10 days, the seeds will be in the germination phase and it's important to keep the soil watered at all times.
Once sprouts begin to appear, continue to water enough to keep the soil damp. As the sprouts grow stronger and in to the stems of flowers, you'll only have to water as needed.
Ashley Stone is the Owner & Founder of The Good Card. The Good Card started with the simple idea that giving and receiving cards could become even more beautiful if they could become flowers. Influenced by her love of cards, flowers, and everything handmade, Ashley wanted to make something meaningful for others. By planting the card in soil, beautiful wildflowers will grow and give a second life to your card. The cards are good for you, good for the community, and good for the environment. Plant it, keep it, display it, save it in a drawer to read again later - it's yours to choose. She hopes that The Good Card can be a small part of your special moment.
Good for a Reason - With the purchase of every Good Card, The Good Card donates a portion of the proceeds to a Canadian Non-Profit that benefits our planet and our people.
