Brian Hotson is a Dartmouth, NS based artist working in acrylics on paper + canvas and digitally with procreate. With a background in directing and producing television, he developed an eye for composition. Working in digital spaces helps him to see and create a new colour palette of pinks, oranges, and mauves. Colours make him happy. Having always lived near water — Lake Superior, Lake Ontario, and now the Atlantic Ocean. Even with the expanses of these bodies of water, Brian likes to look at the small things - urchins, shells, glass, hermit crabs, and stones. It’s looking up while looking down or looking at the small things while keeping the expanse in view.
