For her ceramic Floral Collection, Rachel hand draws all the flowers and use underglazes to create colourful juicy surfaces. She designs these objects to be not only visually pleasing but to also bring you joy while you use them.
Variations occur in the glaze colour(s) and application so no two vases are exactly alike!
Rachel de Condé is a ceramic artist based in West St Andrews, NS. She lives with her rescue dog and cats on a hobby farm where she keeps honeybees, raises egg-laying hens along with meat birds and vegetables for her own use.
Rachel uses mold making and slip casting techniques to make her functional porcelain ware. Using clay and glaze recipes that she has developed over many years she takes inspiration from the rich colours she finds in her gardens and natural surroundings.
