Retail Sales Assistant (Part-time)
This posting is for a part-time, long term position.
About Inkwell
Located in downtown Halifax, Inkwell is a modern handmade boutique and letterpress studio with an abundant selection of handmade delights made with love, by artists from around the corner and across the world. Inkwell also offers small scale, small batch custom letterpress printing services – (business cards, greeting cards, announcements, invitations and posters) and a wholesale product line (Inkwell Originals).
Job Description
The position includes customer service and daily sales, store upkeep (restocking / tidying / cleaning), entering / receiving products, shipping online orders, framing artwork, gift wrapping, and other duties as required.
Experience and Skills Requirements
The ideal person must be cheerful, reliable and a self-starter. Experience in retail sales, a passion for modern handmade products and an appreciation for supporting local, small and independent business are essential.
Assets (but not required)
- Experience as a key holder
- A working knowledge of retail POS software, Mac OSX and social media
- Skills in visual display/merchandising, digital photography, e-commerce and packaging/shipping
- Familiarity with the printing processes used and art mediums carried in the store
Availability
The position will range from 15-25 hours per week. The store is open 7 days a week and shifts you must be available to work are:
Sundays 11-4
Wednesdays 12-5
Fridays 12-5
Saturdays 11-5
As well as have the flexibility to work other shifts as required. The start date is early-mid September.
